My experience is MAGA really hates the troops and veterans when they're not just acting like convenient little props.

I'm from a military family, includes JAG members and medical officers. The idea that the military is too dumb to figure out what an illegal order is and should blindly obey is ridiculous.

NP: Don't play PP's refusal to answer game. No one has to point to existing or past illegal orders in order to make a public statement of existing law, which is that illegal orders must not be followed. Obviously that statement is the "right side" of the Constitution, and PP knows it, which is why they didn't answer.

YOU may not know what an illegal order is but the military are trained on this (and may be smarter than you.)

For what it’s worth, a commander and officer has a duty, moral obligation, and legal requirement to first question and then to not obey any illegal orders given.

The same is true for everyone who swear their oath.
