fortunately, alive and healthy. just bad at staying in touch. had a good visit. fixed the read receipts/location services issue.
perils of middle age, those of us that live alone and have lost a lot of family— have to figure out safety nets/awareness/power of attorneys etc with our friends.
very glad i was not dealing with an accident, illness, or worse.
