Funny, I knew it was going to be Chapman from OP’s first post, only because I knew a kid who went there for a while who said the highly produced orientation with fireworks and cheerleaders etc was the moment they knew the place wasn’t a good fit. And it just never was.

But if your kid loved it, OP, that’s a great sign that it IS a fit. That’s great. I love that there are so many different kinds of experiences, for all kinds of different kids. Good luck!

That seems rather burdensome on families whose students live far away. I suppose they give aid to the FGLI students and the rest are wealthy . . . .

Fireworks are disliked, the use of fireworks is a big negative, environmentally for many people. Especially younger people. These are the kinds of activities which inform a student - this school is not the place for them. Similar to releasing balloons en masse

My kids Maryland state university had fireworks. I saw nothing wrong with this.
