What does dwindling church attendance mean?

Wrong again. The percentage and number of Christians in the US is on the rise.

+1

And just as with the many other recent troll threads, the premise is wrong. People are moving from the mainline denominations to independent Christian churches. McLean Bible Church happens to be a local example of an independent church growing by leaps and bounds.

?Change in administration

I would look at broader data.

No compromise was offered. Also, the political climate makes it hard to understand each other. Trumpet has ruined so much, he has polarized and separated families, churches, with no relief in sight.

If this is your excuse, YOU are the one polarizing and separating.

Nope - unless you're cherry picking data over a very short period of time. The long term trend is very clear and it's down.

Some got out of the habit during covid and some just didn’t see the community value of it any more. Some people are not indoctrinating their children to believe something they don't believe themselves.

What do you think it means?

This is not what I see in my church. We have a huge building with two services offered on Sunday, and it becoming increasingly full, especially with younger people and young couples. It is interesting phenomena, but definitely an increase in attendance this year.

Young people are bucking the trend and becoming increasingly more religious - that is a well documented phenomena.

DP - Can you point out what part of that link I am missing that makes your point? All I can see is the opposite.

Nope - see the post above (thanks for sharing a paywalled article btw). Look at the global not the local trend. Feel free to come back in several years, but this is nothing more than a blip in a very obvious downward trend.

Gen Z is aching for community. So there's actually been a pretty big uptick among young people choosing to go to church. Much more so than Millennials or Gen X.

No, I did click the link, and saw what you said. But you responded to a point saying the numbers went down indicating you disagreed with it. Which apparently you didn’t. This is why i was confused.

You might want to look at threads in context before you act like such a dick and insult people. It’s unnecessary, even when you are right. In this case, you were wrong.

There are a lot of insults here. Maybe because it's easy to insult a stranger
