BARF is this elon?

Curious, why does that sound like something Elon would write to you? I would think he would be quite the opposite. Anyway, I was trying to convey empathy. One person in particular who was RIF'd was truly amazing at what they did, which was managerial in a non-controversial Bureau. I really can't believe it.

DP. Just like with all of these RIFs, it doesn’t matter to them about the quality of employees.

What roles were targeted? What did these people do?

I think people in the back office (contracts for example) were among those impacted.

That democracy/human rights is controversial is insane

Are the RIF’ed workers able to collect unemployment?

It is so senseless and cruel. I am former State, very recently VERA. I keep getting texts with the names of another person I know (someone I hired or trained or mentored or just worked closely with) who has been RIF’ed or also several former peers demoted (even by two grades). I guess the point is to traumatize the public service and they are accomplishing that. And eventually, we’ll see the great harm to Americans as this important work will not get done.

It was a terrible scene at the SA6 out processing center on Friday. The uniformed guards were everywhere and none wanted to be there. Looks like there were also out-of-shape plainclothes DS agents providing “muscle” and a bunch of weirdos sitting behind tables collecting badges and parking passes. The lady collecting the parking passes especially had a shiat-eating grin on her face the entire time. The AC wasn’t working and I think the cops got called for some sort of incident.

They fired some people working in fraud prevention, of all places...if that tells you anything about what this is really about.

What can’t you believe?

It’s time to wake up Trump and his sycophants are destroying the economy, science, US constitution!

I hate to break it to you but 90% of Americans don't give a crap about any of this. They've all been through layoffs and firings and don't have any sympathy for the work or the people.

Last I checked polling, people vote based on policy issues, not federal employment levels. Just like you don't care if people lose their jobs at the local Amazon warehouse, you only care if the box gets to your door.

+1

People in DC feel this more acutely. Most Americans don’t have any clue what State Department does except approve passports.

Welcome to what non feds have dealt with for decades.

Good luck finding jobs. Companies are hiring h1b’s or offshoring.
