Yep. Imagine being at Thanksgiving dinner and your cousin mentions they are applying to Harvard, and grandma started rambling about Harlem and all the blacks who live there. There would definitely be a side conversation later about concerns over her cognitive decline. |
He wasn't very sharp or intelligent or curious. But he was a good bullshitter. Watch interviews with him in the 90s. Hell, watch his debates just 9 and 10 years ago. He's a jerk. And stupid. And now he's losing what brain cells he did have. |
+1 If our local school system hired an 80 year old superintendent (or school principal since most of them work harder than superintendents), many folks would be outraged. Magnify the important demands of that job by a 1000, add in a four year term and that's the job of POTUS. We'll be scratching our heads for decades trying to figure out how we were duped into the Trump/Biden presidencies. |
Anyone who has cared for dementia patients can see the signs in Trump.
Two of the most obvious are the lethargy during the day and the insomnia from sundowning. Another obvious marker is his change in posture and the way he walks. It's called dementia posturing. It's when they have a stooped posture and a lean when walking or standing. The next decline you'll see is him missing stairs because their depth perception is usually the next thing to go. |
You recognize that both of these things can be true, right? 99.9% of people decline over the age of 80, means 0.1% don't or do so to a much lesser degree. |
My dad was like this. Early on he realized something was wrong, but when he got to Trump's stage he had no idea. |
I can see your point. My own parent was similar with the dementia and TV. But I never knew if the TV watching was a result of the dementia (easy to just watch) or if the TV contributed to the dementia. You're right about learning languages. I was reading about that and learned that a second language can delay dementia, but it won't prevent it. Diet plays a role, too. Trump has a bad diet, I hear. Alzheimer's and dementia start long before we know it. |
Trump knows the photo was fake. After the host points out the MS13 "tattoo" was photoshopped, Trump starts to insult the host by saying the host is so lucky to have the "break of a lifetime" to interview him and "frankly, I didn't know who you were." Trump knows what he's doing here and is a personality disordered and insecure ___. |
I'm sorry to hear that. He may have gotten dementia earlier if he had not done those things. We just don't know enough about it. DP |
Why would you think Haley would be better? Yikes. |
We just have to let the train wreck happen. That’s the only way this is going to end. Republicans will not stop it, so let’s let them take the lead and responsibility for the big crash. |
What, agreed to disagree? That’s basically what they all do which is why we’re in this mess. |
You think Haley would trash the constitution, run constant bitcoin grifts, let Elon access government computers, defund science, destroy our soft power power, and extort law firms? She would not. I still would have picked Harris over her, but Haley is not the authoritarian, criminal, conman, anti-American, sadist traitor that Trump is, no. |
and your eyes are telling you that most over 80 year olds are as sharp as they were at 20? that they have no cognitive decline? that they learn as fast as they ever did? really? maybe then you need cataract surgery. |
