So how was the Achilles kid scouted? Is the family well connected? Did Achilles or do clubs in general make recommendations to scouts they know? Just curious as to how an American kid (albeit with a dual EU passport) can be scouted into a euro academy outside of the more familiar path (eg MLS Academy or living in Europe already).

It was due to the unrelenting efforts of the kid's father. Achilles had no part in it. Great opportunity for the kid, but without the Italian passport, it could never have happened. Hope it works out for him.
