Master thread:NOVA clubs spring tryouts dates

Anonymous
I'm the guy who wants to start the revolution, I think the only way to do his is to lose the anonymity on here. Not ideal but they (the club directors) already know we are the "trouble makers" so I'm all for it. There will always be one brave director who will listen to us becuase they need the W's and that person will get a squad of ballers. How do we ensure quality? Only parents of ballers can get away with this behavior. So who wants to jump off this bridge with me with potentially no parachute?

My next post will not be anonymous if I see some genuine interest in replies on this thread. If you can name one player from a Forza Chelsea squad that is your test of eliteness.

Say your team is no longer ECNL for next year, is your player still bound by the March 1 window?

This is my point, you are bound to nothing just show up to the practice. If your kid can play there is nothing to fear from these coaches and TD

Opposite feeling actually; like I was lazy for allowing this to happen year in and year out. Fed up soccer dad is more accurate.

Do people serious cart their players to 5+ tryouts/IDs? Or is this just nosey trolls acting like they need to make spreadsheets for tryouts? I don't know a single person from bottom team families to top team families that do more than 3 actual tryouts a year. Do you just never go to your club's practices?

ID season is Feb. never look at more than 1-2 clubs and 2-3 pratices is not much of an impact especially in VA when girls miss this time of year because of HS too.

If you're worried about missing practice my comments will not help you.

Unless you are a marginal pre-ECNL kid moving from U12 ot U13, if your kid is alread ECNL/GA why would they have a need to go to 3+ tryouts much less 1 or 2 each year?
And anyone not already ECNL/GA going to that many tryouts is simply desparate.

Show up in your team's uniform. Rub shoulder with the coach and then hand them a blank check.

If Alexandria wants to compete at the highest level, and attract the highest level kids, they should go all in on complete development of players. The MLS Next kids are training 4 days a week. Strength and agility work folded into their regular routine would go a long way toward improving performance, building team unity, and convincing parents and athletes that the club wants to field the strongest teams possible and develop individuals.

Alexandria posted the coaching slate for next year and it's FIRE!

Does anyone know what’s happening to GFR with all of these changes?
