I guess the real question here is why are so many teens having mental health issues now ?! Is it because of the repercussions caused by isolation from the pandemic? Social media ? Academic pressure? Problems are the same but therapy is much more socially acceptable now than it was 20 years ago? All of the above?

It’s trendy now, facilitated by horrifically bad parents who indulge this nonsense instead of telling their kids to knock it the eff off. |
Check out Abigail Shrier’s new book, “Bad Therapy”. It’s an interesting read on the issue. |
Why don’t you read the United States Surgeon General’s report from last year? SOCIAL MEDIA IS TOXIC. |
It also has to do with the way we treat mental health issues in children. We encourage them to see themselves as victims and to ruminate on their problems. We don’t encourage them to move on or grow from their experiences. We are sending them down the rabbit hole. |
