Katie Britt Response

What a hideous kitchen. It looks like school lockers.

I have worked in politics in DC for 40 years since graduating from college. I have never seen such a horrible "response to SoA " performance. Marco Rubio and Bobby Jindal must be so relieved today that they will no longer be considered the worst.

Agree with other posters about the cross and cleavage. I had to look her up. The Republicans should have gotten her am image consultant and voice coach. Britt is not ready for prime-time. I also looked up her husband. He played FB at 'Bama and played a total of 16 games ( rarely as a starter) in NFL. Apparently, he works as a lobbyist now.

I loved reading/ listening to all of the various press/ news organizations this morning. Most of the Republicans, including MAGAs cringed even more than the Democrats. Shockingly bad.

Is that like a prop kitchen? There isn't even any kid school art or anything else you'd find in a real kitchen....

I still remember Jindal swanning out from behind some huge flag, and a reporter's comment being caught on mic, saying "oh my god." You could practically hear him rolling his eyes. LOL

Yeah, the toughest criticism I’ve seen has been from Republicans.

Have you never heard the phrase "kitchen table issues?"

DP, but it is a euphemism for day-to-day and recurring family concerns like jobs, education, healthcare, retirement, etc., the issues that Democrats always promote and Republicans always ignore.

^Exactly pp. The Rs are horrified that their token woman fooled No One!

- She spoke in "fundie baby voice" like Michelle Duggar
- It was like an episode of the Bipolar Housewives of Alabama
- She's a brainless Barbie-wannabe broadcasting from her kitchen in south Gilead
- Minny Jackson needs to bring her some chocolate pie
- This is a ready made cold open for SNL, no writing required!

The switching from giggling to almost crying and then back again. I couldn’t decide if she is bipolar or borderline personality. I would back away from her if I found myself in the same room.

Have you seen what the GOP has done to women’s rights and where they want women to go and stay?

Show me just one male politician ever who has given a major speech from a kitchen.

I just watched and it’s even worse than all the commentary made me think! Her performance makes Bobby Jindal’s effort a few years ago look like Winston Churchill.

+1 It’s really bad optics for the party that wants to force women back into the kitchen to make a woman give a speech from her kitchen. Every other SOTU rebuttal I can remember has been given from a place like the Rotunda.

As bad as Britt is Tuberville is of course still worse.

Such a weird comment. What skin?

Not PP but that was more cleavage than politicians usually show when they’re at work. Also, I love the color of her blouse - Ann Taylor is full of that color right now.

Please post a picture of the cleavage. I watched it and saw zero cleavage.

cleav·age
noun
1.
the hollow between a woman's breasts when supported, especially as exposed by a low-cut garment.

It’s enough to make Jesus proud

yep, there's cleavage, ever so slightly
I wonder how long it took her to figure out how to clip the mike just so, so that it would nudge the shirt over just a bit and make that shadow (and hint of unbuttoning more buttons). She could have closed one more button, and I think the cross would have still been visible. Oh, but she wanted all the skin as cross background. Nothing sexier!

I do like the color. I'm fond of deep greens.
