Per the title, Britney revealed that she had an abortion while in a relationship with Timberlake because he “didn’t want to be a father.” Yikes. I’m pro choice, but the phrasing isn’t a good look for him.

How is this not a good look for him? It shows maturity that she obviously lacked:

"He said we weren’t ready to have a baby in our lives, that we were way too young."

If a woman can have an abortion because she’s not ready to be a mother (which I support), then a man can encourage an abortion because he’s not ready to be a father. Ultimately it’s her decision, but he is allowed to have an opinion and to express it.

Yes I agree with this- but it just sounds like he was kind of callous about it. According to her anyways. Also seems like a very attention seeking move on her part to reveal such a private thing about their relationship.

I don’t consider her a reliable narrator, but if he was a jerk about it, it’s not too surprising that a what, 18yo boy, didn’t handle an unwanted pregnancy gracefully.

I was living with a friend who grew up with one of his band mates while JT and Britney were dating. She was the one who pursued him, aggressively. Always thought that was funny.
It’s unfortunate that she had to deal with the pregnancy and him. It was probably for the best for everyone though.

I saw it go down more than once and then threw her under the bridge with “Cry Me a River” and the video like it was her fault. Theirs was not a healthy relationship, she was on top of the world and deserved better…that said this new revelation about the abortion is heartbreaking. I feel so sad for her. Her “Everytime” video is about this and her breakup with JT. She spiraled after the JT breakup and was never the same. JT is a complete jerk. Facts.

i do feel very bad for britney. obviously a really young girl thrown into a grown up world with no real support. wish things had turned out differently for her.

Haha! I love when the world feels small! Agree about Britney. She is a really sweet person, at least she was back then. But she was very naive, not very bright, needed handlers and was showing hints of crazy even as a teen. To see how this all turned out for her is beyond awful. And how JT profited off of her downfall is just gross.
