I abated completely while watching the despicable behavior of christians over the Trump years and pandemic. As a whole, they are willing to stand up only for unborn fetuses and nothing or no one else. Nothing Godly about them and lest anyone suggest I'm lumping them all together, you're darn right. Show me a single one with the courage to stand up publicly and denounce the evil the larger group has embraced.

Christians have destroyed christianity.

Even if there was to be a Rapture, God would not be in any hurry to come get this crop of believers.

Plenty of Christians stood up to Trump. Start with Sojourners—many are even evangelical. Pass through all the really liberal churches in this area, and if you don’t want to believe they exist, then why are conservatives always complaining about liberalism in the pulpit?

Your ignorance is no excuse for your your bigotry.

There certainly are liberal Christians (I am one) and liberal congregations (I attend one), but come on. Like the bulk of Christianity hasn’t been overrun with right wing whack jobs? It has.

As to why they’re always complaining about politics in the pulpit: every conservative accusation is a confession. Evangelicals and Catholics went all in for Trump, by huge margins.

Exactly

We are on to politics here but I have commented before that the Republicans have done a great job at infiltrating religion and people vote on a single ticket item and that is abortion. That’s the only reason why many Evangelicals vote R.

So they will sell their soul to the devil just for the chance to oppress women. Great.

They don’t see it that way. They really do think they’re doing the right thing and in a way they can justify everything else, take the good and the bad to justify this.

Total hypocrites. They will align with corrupt, amoral politicians just to have the opportunity to oppress women.

I believe in the Rapture but I don't believe it will be anytime soon. No man knows the day or the hour of the Rapture, but God's sense of time is different than ours. Our life span is like a blink of the eye to God, if that. It could be thousands of lifetimes before the Rapture comes. I don't believe it will be soon or fast. I believe it will be very long and drawn out.

Soooo . . . You’re saying Jews and Hindus are screwed?

"I'm coming to my end. That MUST mean the world is coming to its end."

I was told that if you were really saved that you’d have peace, but never did. Even got saved and baptised, rededicated my life. It was that doubt that led to my deconstruction.

Big hugs to you. God loves you. Always and forever, no matter what.

Do you understand that the poster before you is no longer a believer? Seems odd that you'd assure such a person that they are love by a god they don't believe in.

It’s not odd. PP is intentionally being disrespectful of the other PP’s beliefs.

Exactly.

It's going to hurt but we will survive.

You must be lost. This is not a Q Cult site.

No. Because Rapture is a fictitious cultural myth.

I never got the point of the rapture. I was taught that during the rapture Christ would take all the good Christians to Heaven. But aren’t the good Christians already going to Heaven? Aren’t the bad people already going to Hell? So what’s so great about the rapture?

I believe in the rapture of the church and the second coming of Christ. I do not feel anxiety over it.
