PLEASE SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO ME WHAT IS THE SCAM/THREAT

Please

I know the women are being annoying, but I don’t get what the scam or the threat is. Can someone walk me through it?

It was explained above this post. You have an expensiveish bag or products. They figure your house is a good bet to rob. The air tags are to figure out where you love to determine if it is a good idea to rob.

This is made up out of thin air. This does not happen.

You are nuts.

Stalkers using AirTags makes perfect sense, as does car thieves tagging cars. But I still don't quite see why this hypothetical crime ring would hang out at a store looking for a person wealthy enough to have an expensive car or an expensive house when they could instead just....look for an expensive car or go to where the expensive houses are.

Seems like a baroque approach to a straightforward crime. But I'll watch out for the church-lady AirTag gang the next time I'm looking well-off at the Target!

They’re not. Some people have very active imaginations.

Please think this through everyone. If you have a fancy house, criminals are going to go directly to your neighborhood to scope it out for a robbery. They’re not going to bother putting an expensive AirTag in your Gucci bag at target and then see where your fancy house is. There is no need for the extra steps, added expense, risk of being on target’s security cameras, or doing something weird that will attract attention and suspicion that will stick out in people’s memories.

To anyone that doesn’t believe think this is real, go to Target, especially Mosaic, on the weekend. Slowly browse and casually shop, alone. Bonus points if you’re a woman. Let me know if you get approached and how it feels to you.

We’re not entirely sure. Haven’t been fully scammed yet

I really appreciate this post. We’ve got to look out for each other and not just be nice to people even if something feels off. I think of myself as street smart but technology changes the scams. I live about 15 mins from mosaic and have seen more posts about breakins lately. I don’t know if it’s connected. I really hope store security is working with FCPD to bust these scammers.

I literally just did this Sunday. Nothing. You all are crazy. This is like the Bunny Tunnel. An urban legend.

You sound like a cynical boomer

The reason I know this thread is from a fake troll is that one of the women was described as "asian." Asian people don't commit crimes. Try again

Are we sure this isn't just evangelizing? I live in DC and had something similar happen to me on the street: two women, asked about the Bible, invited me to Waterfront. I said no thank you and left the conversation.

The specific story told here seems a bit far fetched. The use of Airtags to stalk women isn't. If you can abuse technology, people will.

It’s Bunnyman Bridge. And it’s real.

Agree. They were either evangelizing or hoping to recruit OP into their MLM. Annoying and inappropriate for target, sure. I still don’t see the thread/scam.

If these people were actually scamming, they’d be way more subtle and wouldn’t be approaching so many different women inside of a TARGET
