People are frustrated with the lack of progress in many areas (namely inflation), but the turnout for the primaries tends to be more extreme and no way is the middle voting for the crazies after all the killing democracy and racial hate stuff going on. Right?

Yes - in swing districts. MAGAs are the sorts of low quality candidates that could tip things to D in an otherwise hostile year, in districts that aren't fully red. And especially if Ds run someone decent.

Was just coming to post this. Lol. He made Republicans angry. Now we know Trump white supremacy support is ok, talking about the coke-fueled orgies not.

They’re not gonna let the orgies go without a fight and Madison endangered that.

He also endangered the continued existence of the United States, but messing with the orgies was a bridge too far.

Still can't quite get over how loving Hitler was ok, but talking about orgies was not.

+1 but PP is right, too. It’s been a shock to me these last few years how many Nazis there are walking around the US. I knew there were white supremacists, but I thought they were fewer.

Once the GOP mainstreamed them, though, they had no reason to hide.

Also sexually assaulting so many women that his RA advised women to never get into a car with him. Never mind - that’s ok with the GOP. On a different note, maybe I’m naive, but do you all think these coke orgies really happen? I just figured Congresspeople live it up with expense meals, gifts, and trips.

I think it’s pretty clear now they happen. And to think, a few months ago, I had no idea that this is what GOP elected get up to.

LOL there’s no way Fetterman’s winning. Senate is GOP.

PA loves Fetterman. He’s an outsider and will “stick it” to the establishment.

He dresses like a bum and and just had open-heart surgery. Even you have to admit his chances are shaky.

Oh not voting for an open heart surgery candidate as your primary winner biting you in the ass?

Fetterman, the state’s lieutenant governor, has appeared publicly only in recorded video since the stroke. His wife is speaking to the media on his behalf. And the situation has prompted Democrats to refresh their knowledge of state ballot-replacement law — the deadline is in August — according to two party sources who said they don’t anticipate a candidate switch being necessary.

He did not have open heart surgery. He had a pacemaker implanted. That is a very common surgery.
