Is Shakespeare not taught in DCPS?

Somehow you think taking a college class on Foucault turned you into a visionary with a profound and unique understanding of what's wrong with society and how to fix it, and the high school reading list is the start point.

For me personally, Shakespeare was the most challenging and engaging literature I encountered in high school. It exposes children to advanced vocabulary and beautiful language. It is extremely dramatic and engaging and rich with themes for students to analyze and write about. Shakespeare is absolutely essential.
