Private schools searching for top lax player

Only three 2022 Hawks to SJ after 8th grade.
A handful of 2022 SJ players from other programs wanted to play with their teammates and left their clubs to play with the Hawks after ninth grade.

The SJC freshman attackman last spring was SJC best attackman and arguably one of their best offensive threats. He is the best 2024 in the area by a long shot.

Both very good players who will be top D1 prospects, but think you are overstating a bit. Saw them both play several times last year and can’t recall ever seeing an attempt by opponents to lock down these players - the focus was elsewhere. Landon attackman benefitted from all the attention focused on (now) Michigan player, while SJC is so balanced with so many weapons that teams may have taken a “let the freshman beat us” approach. To his credit he stepped up and delivered a solid season, but I would not have classified either player as unstoppable or dominant as a freshman. Please don’t take this as a knock on these kids, just a little perspective.

The previous post referred to impacting the game as a freshman. Definitions will vary, but I would say any freshmen starting in the top level IAC or WCAC school is making an impact. The 3 players listed above will more than likely be Top 50 national recruits. I am sure there were other freshmen starters in these leagues, and more will develop over the next 2-3 years.

The bigger point is that DC private schools do in fact recruit for lax, giving kids an opportunity at attending a better academic and athletic school. Some of them are even receiving FA to attend.

Coaches and non biased parents can currently look at the 26, 27, and 28 top club teams top players and develop a short list of who will be next in line. More kids will join the line, but lists are already made by these programs.

All three of these players are very good as they all made an impact as freshman in games in marquee lacrosse conferences.

The ceiling is rather high for these 3 as to my knowledge none of them are re-class players either.

24 and 25 class at SJC are very good. They will be dominant even after the 22 class graduates. Get used to it.

You must not have been at the Future Stars Showcase last weekend. SJC JV was not good.

Top 2024 class is either Landon or Prep.

Top 2025 class might be Bullis
