Kindergarten— holding back?

Anonymous
Curious with the new virtual school decree how many parents are going to redshirt their kindergarteners next year (to enroll in 2021). Kind of curious/worried how big that cohort is going to be, which will have ripple effects throughout their schooling especially when they apply for college. My kid was born right after the cutoff so will be in the 2021 cohort and now I’m getting really nervous for her. She’s in a private pre-K now and we had been planning on switching to public next year but now everything is in the air. Holding her back is not an option as she’s mature socially and advanced academically (reading and doing addition/subtraction) so don’t want her to get bored.

I would probably hold them back just because, what exactly is kindergarten distance learning?

I have a kindergarten who just finished distance learning last Spring in private school. It is half hour - 1 hours teaching in the morning, then homework on ipad.

Already a thread:

Are people going to be more likely to redshirt because of COVID?
