I really need a full day (or at least until 3) camp for a 3 YO this summer. Any ideas? SO many places in MD start at 3.5, and dc will not quite be 3.5 yet. Thanks! |
Silver Stars Gymnastics does camp for 3 yr olds |
It's not really Camp, although it's billed that way. Georgetown Hill Early School in Potomac has a camp for 3 y.o.s |
CommuniKids in Tenleytown has full-day Spanish immersion camp for 3-5 year olds. |
Westmoreland Children's Center has camp for 3's at two locations in Bethesda. |
Sidwell's Junior Explorers taks 3 year olds on the DC campus - and that teacher (Red group last summer) is wonderful! Lots of great age appropriate summer camp fun with themes each week, arts & crafts, water play, science, sports, - a good time! |
St. Columba's |
Silver Stars does not start til 3 1/2. A lot of Md camps are this way related to the Md state law. You might try Bethesda YMCA, or camps with DC license. I think the age cutoffs are different in DC than MD.
Good luck !!! |
Many preschools and private schools in NW DC have camps, and most will take 3-year-olds. Sheridan, GDS, WIS come to mind. Figure out which ones appeal to you logistically, and then start looking online for programs that would appeal to your child. |
Karasik Child Care Center has a fantastic summer camp. It's in Silver Spring (off Georgia ave exit). They start at 2 and offer full day (7 to 6pm). My child attended last year's camp and it was really a blast. They had moonbounces, pony rides, clowns, etc. Every week there was at least one or two "special" things going on. They also had several field trips throughout the summer. You can't beat the price...it's like $800/month for full time.
It's a full year program as well that's an inclusion program for typical and special needs kids in the same classroom. It's really an excellent place with wonderful teachers. |
Bethesda Country Day School starts at 3 |
