Single parent to a six month old and I'm struggling with how to fill our time on the weekends between the 90+ degree heat and COVID.
I know she doesn't technically need anywhere but home, but we're both going a little stir crazy trapped at home all weekend and she seems to like the stimulation of going places. In non-COVID times, I imagine we would be doing things like visiting friends, going to Target or the mall, baby music class or even wandering around a museum. She's happy in a stroller or carrier and even tolerates the car pretty well. Any ideas? |
| You can go for a stroller walk or sit on the grass in the shade in the morning before the first nap. That's what we do with our 10 month old. She's up by 7 and first nap is around 10 |
| Put the baby in a wrap and go for an early morning window shopping session. It won't be as hot and no one around if it's before places open for the day. Babies like to look at anything. |
| Early morning or evening picnic in the park, just bring a blanket and let baby stare at stuff. |

Echo the above. Early mornings in the grass are great.
At home, read, sing, narrate, ask questions - just engage her in everything you do. Long baths with different textures kills a lot of time, too. |
