How to find a sitter?

We’re those people you hear about who somehow made it 4.5 years into parenting (with 2 kids no less!) who have never had a sitter. We’re now thinking our best option for the foreseeable future is a part time regular weekday sitter - maybe a responsible college student? We have no idea how to find someone. DH made a profile on urban sitter and I posted on the neighborhood Facebook page. What else should we be doing? TIA!

Ask your neighborhood listserve or Nextdoor. Do interviews of 2-3 people, ask for references or talk to their parents if they still live at home. We found 2 great high school sitters who live in our neighborhood this way.
