They are trimming bushes, removing a weed/tree that’s growing up the side of the house, weeding and edging, etc. They arrived around 11am and are still going strong - I suspect they’ll be here into the evening. There are two men working. The cost was $850.
We don’t usually hire landscapers but had gotten behind on the yard. It was too much to do (well) ourselves. Do I tip them? I’m not sure what’s typical or expected. And if so, how much? Thanks. |
| I usually do not. However, if they exceed your expectations and you want to they will appreciate it |
| I don't tip them. |
| Yes. Tip them If they worked hard in the heat. |
| Tip them at least $50 each fore sure. |
| No way |
| If you feel like it do it. The extra cash will be very welcomed. There's never anything wrong about being generous. |
I think they are being very well paid (I had similar work done, 8 hours by one person and paid $330), but the decision to tip is up to you. |
| I just got quoted almost $5k for yard cleanup plus mulch. This sounded insane to me but I don’t know if that’s just the going rate??? We have a quarter acre, lots of overgrown weeds, ivy and bushes on front, side and rear. I was expecting something more like $1.5 to $2k.... |
You are getting the COVID surcharge. |
This sounds about right to me. It always costs more than you think |
|
I’d say definitely tip them if you’re paying someone else (like a business) and they’re employees. If you’re paying them directly with cash, you could tip them or not. If they’ve done a good job I think it would be nice.
I’ve also understood that you don’t tip the owner. |
| If they work 8 hours each you are paying them over 50 dollars an hour! No tip. |
