Scrimmaging - VA

Anonymous
I picked my son up at practice last night. First practice he has been to outdoors since March. The kids were full-on scrimmaging 7v7. Is this appropriate in Phase III in VA? Kids are U12s-U14s.

I think they’re allowed to legally. Clubs have different policies, some are more strict.

There is full on scrimmaging occurring in Fairfax County, and yes, it is permitted under VYSA Phase III and current county regulations. There is variation between clubs.

Yes it is allowed.

it varies by club - actually by the club's insurance policy. Ours is not allowed yet so practices are still distanced

What club OP?

Matches are allowed if clubs want to set up friendlies. Not sure any leagues are running yet in NOVA.

Uh...not sure what this is about but we are scared to...damn right. And you should be scared to scrimmage with my child: how do you know I am not an ER physician or otherwise have exposure?

If you're saying that people are afraid to scrimmage because they're afraid of getting bad press about it, I suppose so, but if that's all that's holding you back please feel free to organize you own scrimmages. I am sure there will be participants. But it sucks for those kids and their families.

Honestly can you people just STFU with Karen and shit. Just answer questions and be helpful instead of ruining everything. I agree that people are worrying too much but to waste posts calling people Karen to try to be funny on anonymous forums is f-ing stupid. You should just go play in traffic if you really don't have anything better to do.

So reality: Scrimmages are allowed in VA. However, counties can impose restrictions and so can individual clubs. No leagues are playing VA that I know of. I heard that a small EDP summer league is starting soon though. I only know of one VA team in it as of right now though. I also heard that the 3v3 in Manassas is still on for the 25th.

Plenty of soccer going on in VA. Official matches not just scrimmages.

You're just a different kind of Karen.
