I have been trying to decipher from this board which doctor's offices might be the best to go to and am still confused.
I am at a big group practice right now. I don't particularly like feeling like a number, but at the same time I had no bad experiences there. They draw your blood, do urine analysis and sonos on site. It's still tricky getting appointments with certain doctors though and for bloodtest results usually the nurses call. Is this different for small practices? Do you have to go somewhere else for sonos for example? Do the physicians call you up with test results? Can you get in for appointments or is that really difficult? Also, do people have recommendations for small practices where the doctors really take time for you that are metro accessible? |
I go to Dr. Virginia Thompson, who I absolutely love. She practices at 2440 M Street NW, about five or six blocks from the Foggy Bottom Metro (it's not a bad walk--I did it up to the very end of my pregnancy). She does blood draws and urine analysis on site, and my sonos (except for the nuchal translucency test) were done in her office as well. She calls with test results, and making an appointment has never been difficult. She's busy, as most doctors seem to be these days, but I have never felt rushed or like she did not have time to answer any of my questions. That having been said, I know that she is a very popular doctor and it can be difficult to get in to see her as a new patient. |
