Parenting kids with special needs forum ??

I'm a nanny with a specialty in special needs kids. People ask me lots of questions when they find out what I do for a living. I am surprised that so few people are aware of what is available, as far as assistance and programs. Navigating the process and paperwork is so much more daunting.

Do you think there is a possibility of opening a forum for parents with special needs kids?

I would SO love to have such a forum. I have a son with special needs and I feel very alone sometimes. Thank you for suggesting this.

DITTO. My dc has ADHD. I've seen a few parents write about sensory issues and autism in a post or two, but certainly a central location would be nice. Some many of the items run cross-section through the current forums (applying to private schools other than the Big 3...finding good OTs...summer camp referrals for those who need speech help or social skills).

My son is being evaluated for an IEP now. He will likely need many services. He is kindergarten.

I would love a forum to find info., vent my worries, and get support.
