National League

What is your understanding of the National League platform?

Quickly losing relevance as top clubs move to ECNL or GA. What is the point of spending the money to travel to a tournament to play the B or C team of an ECNL or GA club. You are better off doing JefCup, Bethesda Cup or CASL.

Best youth players should be in Europe by U17. National League will still be a great competition, but if that's the system to deliver future USMNT players, we will continue our current trajectory.

The point is that NL no longer has the best teams or players. In the DMV, ECNL and GA just gobbled up the last remaining competitive non-ECNL/DA clubs. Pipeline moved to ECNL and Celtic and SAC moved to GA.

The National League is trying to stay relevant but that shipped has long sailed. The NL is good for non-elite teams looking to play at a high level. You might get to play the B or C team of a ECNL or GA (girls) or ECNL (boys) club but you want play any elite teams.

By and large yes, probably a couple outliers every now and then (especially with the GAL). Regardless, the best of the best need to leave the United States. Get to Europe. Yeah that's probably only a handful of players but that's why it's the best of the best.
