Pedal Extenders

I am petite - 4 foot 11. I am in the market for a new car and even those that have adjustable seats don't seem to get me high enough or far away enough from the steering wheel to be safe. Has any one here tried pedal extenders? What was your experience?
I know that some SUV's offer adjustable pedals but I don't want a car that big. I am looking at a Mazda CX-5, Ford Escape, Honda HR-V Lexus NX-200 |

| My MIL is about 5’ and quite obese. Getting close to the steering wheel in order to reach the pedals became impossible so she had a local after-market shop install extenders. They worked great and, as a result, she returned to being a much better driver. And a safer one as well. |
