Need social skills group for a 4.5 year old in Vienna

Anonymous
Anyone know of a good social skills group for a 4.5 year old boy with PDD-NOS? We are looking for a group in Vienna, McLean or Falls Church ideally. Our son needs to work on pragmatics and social conversation. Thanks for any help you can give us!

We've attended the Parenting Playgroups social skills groups and have had very positive experiences with them. Our 5 year old DS has SPD and ADHD and they were fantastic with him and we think he got a lot of out them.

The JCC of NoVA offers playgroups. Not sure if they start at that age, but I've heard great things about them. You don't have to be Jewish.

Dr. Moeshe Shtuhl has playgroups. He's a neuropsychologist in Reston, VA. He and his associates facilitate floortime in their playgroups.

Hi there,
I'm looking for opportunities for my son to socialize more and we are in Reston. Ours sons are the same age & it sounds like they have similar challenges. Let me know if you are interested in connecting.

New poster here. I have a 4-year-old with sensory processing issues and would be interested in an informal social group, too. I am in Falls Church.

Have you looked into the Building & Fostering Friendships (BFF) camp at SummerEdge at McLean School of Maryland. It is being run by the JSSA. This might be helpful for your child.

Wait - a social skills class discussion without some fanatic poster telling us that if we do social skills classes for our children, then we must be terrible (and terribly misguided) mothers?! What is going on?!

Has anyone else wondered, in light of Jeff's blog about sock puppets, whether that poster from the last social skills discussion was a sock puppeter just messing with all of us??

Instep (near Inova Fairfax) also has a variety of social skills groups.

I've thought about that, too!

Dr. Moeshe Shtuhl at least on the Family Compass website does not seem to have these groups for the preschool age or is that incorrect?
