The contact tracing supports the idea that children are not major sources of spread. Only 1 out of the 6 children in the initial cluster passed COVID on to others whereas 6/8 adults in the initial cluster passed it on to others.

However, it also shows that children can spread COVID. The 9 year old infected his or her grandparents (both of them) and then one of them passed the infection on to an elderly neighbor.

My cousin is going to a 100 person wedding down in NC. He wanted to come stay and vacation with us right after the wedding. And didn't tell us about the wedding until it came out accidentally via his parents.

Honestly, this is not even news anymore. People are so dumb. Let them eat corona.

+1
But so awkward to be called out like that. We need Judge Judy to yell at everyone.

Family A (Spouse) passed it on to 3 patients? I'm assuming they're a doctor or nurse. They should know better and they should be liable for this.

Good for them. Freedom to do whatever they want is more important. Even if they die, they die free!!!

The news is that the 9 year old 4th grader infected two adults.

Kids aren't supposed to be able to infect adults, or so they are saying on the schools threads.

But, we all know that those pps are morons. I mean it is common sense, kids breathe.

Their county is in phase 2 reopening and says gatherings of up to 25 people are allowed. So I don't know that it was against the regulations, what they did.

The title is misleading. It infected 14, which started a chain that infected 41 people—and let’s face probably a whole lot more by now.

The kids aren’t going to work. That’s maybe why they aren’t the big spreaders in the chart. But I wonder how the grandparents saw the kid without seeing the parents? Did they watch the kid while the parents were sick maybe?

The assumption is that the adults in Family C spread to the adults at the beach but they can’t possibly know that if the child was also on the trip. Would be Interesting to know if there were other kids on that trip that did not get infected.

The contact tracing and graphic are really interesting. So much easier to see the spread visually.

What would be interesting to know is how much contact the kids had with other children and adults. How many people did they expose? That would be telling. And also curious about outcomes. Were the infected asymptotic? Or did any become seriously ill?

I think anyone who chooses in school learning next year should plan on avoiding contact with vulnerable people, like grandparents or immuno-compromised people.

Nobody is saying kids can’t infect adults - just that it’s much more rare as this chart shows.

Unfortunately, they are killing others in the process.
