Help me pick a stone color

Anonymous
We are having our roof and siding color changed and I need to pick a color for the accent stone. Its a small amount of stone near the front of the house.

Siding will be blue, door and shutters will be black. Roof color will be a dark charcoal. Walkway and steps are flagstone

I believe this is the siding color.

Any suggestions for what color the accent stone should be?

I don’t understand, is the stone going on the house? Imo don’t do it. Just do siding.

I know exactly what you mean:

I would go with something in the yellow/beige color family. But honestly the stone is all neutral, so you can’t go wrong with any choice.

The stone will be in the front bottom of the porch. Currently there is brick, which I would like to replace. The house will be all siding. The porch stone will be about 7’ x 4’.

Just get samples and look at them in place.

I wouldn't go for anything in the brown/beige family for a blue and black house.

I would go grey with blue undertones. I think the tan would look weird -- like wearing light colored shoes with dark pants and top. The botton middle one, which is grey with sold gold tones, might be okay also.

Just start googling images of blue stone houses and see what you like. This combination looks pretty good:

I would stick with something in the cool color family. So more blue/gray.

A little bit of brown/beige tone can add visual interest, but many of the pictures above that use warmer stone also have a wooden door or some brown in their roof. Sounds like you won't have that, which means you may have to stick with something like the gray southern ledgestone. I'm not a fan of the specked formstone in pic #4 though.
