Has anyone been there? Any tips? What's the drive like? |
I went a few weeks ago. So much fun! Drive wasn’t bad for us. We stopped at a gas station once for a bathroom break, though. We paid the $10 to bring our own food. Definitely worth it. I’d go again. Probably not for a double feature because that’s too long for us. |
Was it ok to leave in between?. How does it work you sit in your car in the radio? Is it in the middle of nowhere? |
This is in my hometown. Yes, basically in the middle of nowhere. I haven’t been there this year (love in MD now) but follow them on Facebook. They just started allowing the use of the original speakers, as VA moved into phase three. You can still tune in via radio in your car or with a portable radio. I think they still are only parking every other car to allow for more space. Yes perfectly okay to leave in between movies. It’s basically intermission. Fb and webpage have good info. |
Sorry I forgot to say lots of times people bring chairs and sit in front of the car, or in the back of a Van or SUV/truck. |
How far from norther virginia |
Obviously depends on where you’re coming from. Use Google Maps to check. For us, it was just over an hour. Kid slept on the way home. |
You have to order tickets online and they are sold out weeks in advance. Just FYI. |
It’s basically in Winchester. For full-on camp, hit Dinosaur Land while you are out there. |
In related news, both Tyson’s and Mosaic are doing drive in movies this summer. I have t been but we might checking out at some point. |
We just went last weekend. Cars are not parked every other spot, and cell phone and radio service was totally fine. As of last weekend, speakers were still covered, but radio would be much better quality anyways. We got there right at 9 and were able to get a pretty good spot. Didn’t get concessions, but did notice people walking back to their car with popcorn and no masks.
It was an hour from North Arlington. |
