| She wants to stay for 2.5 weeks while I’m out of town. I am game because I need the money. I have no idea how much to charge her, though. If I charge too much she will just stay in an air bnb so I want to give her a deal. But I will need to have the place cleaned before her stay and after. And I want to make money. Should I base it on how much I pay in mortgage and condo fees? If so, she won’t be willing to pay that much. It’s a 2 bedroom apartment in Ballston. |
| Zero. She is a friend. |
| Friend of a friend- charge her what the going rate is for an Airbnb or a tiny bit less- it may not cover your mortgage but you should def cover the cost of cleaning plus half of mortgage. |
| Zero. |
| friend of a friend - I would charge 1/2 going rate plus one of the cleanings. That would be a good deal for both of you. |
This. |
This is OP. She’s not a friend. I’m doing this to make money! |
Lol I’d say $750 or $500 |
| ~ 50-100/day |
| I doubt I would do it. I feel like you are opening yourself up to a ton of liability if the renter gets hurt or burns the place down. I think airbnb insures both the renters and the landlords. |
+1 |
Look up comparable airbnbs in your area and charge that. Or charge 90% of the going rate. This is not hard. |
| You sound gross. A friend stays for free! |
| You sound so desperate. Eww |
| 75% of the going AirBB rate for your area and clean it yourself. If OP needs money and this is a friend of a friend, I see no problem charging. Would you really expect to stay at the place of a friend of friend for 2.5 weeks for free?!? |
