period after m/c - how long for you?

I'm at 5 weeks post-D&C and still haven't gotten my period. How long did it take you all to get your next period after a m/c? And have any of you gotten pregnant again before that first period comes? My husband and I are not using protection and are wondering if it's possible I could be pregnant again so soon. ???

I got my first period 31 days post d&c, but I know it's normal to take up to 6 weeks to get the first one.

So sorry for your loss.
I had misoprostol on October 13 and got my period on November 20.
OB told me to wait to get 2 periods before ttc again. We are working on it now.
Maybe you are pg though, it is possible! GL

OP here. Thanks for your responses... makes me feel better that I haven't gotten it yet and also hopeful that maybe I'm pregnant again! I feel really tired and moody...so it could be PMS or early preg symptoms I guess.
But I'm worried about the lining that likely hasn't built up again since the D&C will increase the chance of another miscarriage. (That's why most docs recommend waiting at least 1 cycle before TTC again). Anyone heard about this/had the experience?

I am so sorry that you have joined this sisterhood. After my first miscarriage, it came a month later; after my second, it took 2 months. Chasteberry in liquid form - a teaspoon with hot tea in the morning, available at health ffod stores and organic food websites - helped it return and not w/ too many side effects. The first period after a loss can hit you like a truck as your hormones try to recalibrate...and you warp your mind around trying again. hang in there.
