Cancelling Golds Gym

I read some newspapers that said you have to go to the gym to sign something or mail a certified letter via post office. Neither option works for us, as we are high risk. We are likely not going to the gym for years because of this, so we would like to cancel. There is no mention of how to on their website.

Has anyone successfully cancelled in the COVID era? We are in Arlington if that matters.

Do they know what you look like? Do you have a less-high-risk person around your same age who could pretend to be you and go in your place?

Just trying to think of options. That said, just the fact that they froze membership fees for 3 months makes me think that they might actually be understanding about you canceling and not having to do it in person.
