9 person limit at practices?

Anonymous
I saw some guidance from BRYC that practices are going to resume but there is a limit to 9 people on a field at a time. Our team can easily divide the 16 players and 2 coaches into sessions but how is it going to work for the big BRYC practices that the academy has? How long will this go on?

Our practice this week was about 40 people on field.

SYC will start practice this week and it will be similar. 10 kids per coach following social distancing guidelines. It will be this way 'til the end of July or until the Governor/CDC recommends.

Our club has two groups of 10 players and coach, each group in practice in half of a field. In this phase there can be gatherings of up to 50 people.

Virginia now allowing full team practice if distanced

Ours has kids in boxes that they aren't allowed to leave? Its not practice - more like juggling skills.

Juggling and foot skills can be done at home via zoom. Why do they have to be on the field?

What were you expecting? If they can only have a certain number of people on the field at a time and those people are supposed to be social distancing, there isn't really a whole lot you can do. You can do inividual technical work, passing exercises that don't involve players moving past one another to different areas, agility or fitness work, shooting without a keeper because they can't touch the ball with their hands yet. It's not ideal but at least it's a step toward getting back out on the field, no? It's only the first or second week back out for most clubs in this area. And frankly, many players could use some basic technical work and many of them are unfit after not doing much running on their own the last 3 months.

I think it is good to get everyone out even if you are limited in what you can do. Most kids are not in shape in now and the running is good for them as well as the connection to their coaches. The kids miss that. I am good with whatever our club thinks works. I am glad they are trying.

Agreed. After 2 weeks of basic training ds told me he gets tired easily and can't kick as hard because his leg is weak. they can use this.

I am all for getting back on the field- just curious how some groups are going to adhere to the numbers.
