Reston pools

Anyone a member? They can’t seem to get their act together. Although we are in Phase 2 now, they aren’t even opening for lap swim until June 29. Wtf? By then we could already be in Phase 3!

I feel like we should get a partial refund on our dues.

Last year they had a shortage of lifeguards which led to reduced pool hours across the community throughout the summer. It's possible they are still experiencing staffing issues especially if the COVID closures this spring impacted their ability to interview and hire lifeguards. Plus, they definitely had to think through how they would stage/limit people coming in and out of the pools and through the locker room areas, not just the logistics of setting up the lap lanes.

Ok, but how come other pools in the area can get their act together?

Yes. I’ve emailed them twice about it now. Nobody can give a direct answer and knows anything about partial refunds. Complete bs. I suggest you email them too so they start feeling pressure from people.

Seriously. I don't know what's going on over there. Our HOA has been waiting for months for various approvals on really minor things.

They sent a big email with a sign up genius for lap swim which starts June 29. And they said it may overlap with Phase 3. So they are behind the actual phases we are in. And no mention of any kind of refund.

RA has responded to multiple comments on their FB page saying they are offering refunds: "Yes we are offering refunds on passes. If you reach out to Member Services they will assist you. They can be reached by email at MemberServices@reston.org, or call 703-435-6530."

They are talking about full refunds. I don’t want a full refund, but I want a partial refund because they haven’t been able to provide us with the full summer. There is no mention of partial or prorated rates.
