Covid and nannies?

Went to Lincoln Park today, and was shocked at how many nannies of all ages were meeting up and sitting close together with no masks, children from diff families playing, no social distancing going on at all. Some may have been mothers but not likely by way observed interactions, but also other parents doing to same! We are discussing about how to open schools but all a mute point as Cap Hill kids already mingling! I don't understand it, it was like only the other day we were all masked and we still haven't reached phase 2 yet, it just seems pointless now!

Weird. I haven’t seen one unmasked nanny or anyone on our neighborhood playgrounds for months. I was out walking with our nanny and the kids today. and

Never assume a woman is either the mother or the nanny. I am constantly mistaken for my child’s nanny and our nanny is always assumed to be his grandmother.

But yes, I think people here are giving up. Especially with daycares opening. Stupid.

Read the parenting forums, OP. Parents are sending their kids to daycare and camp as well as meeting with their friends and family. Nannies, if the women were nannies, are going mask-less because the parents said it was fine.

Our numbers are bound to increase and there will be another shutdown. Stupidity and selfishness reigns.

Why “covid and nannies”? Why not “covid and parents”? Do you think the nannies are defying their employers instructions or that they are simply too stupid to not care about their own health and the health of their charges?

Our nanny is far more cautious and restrictive than we are. She’s always masked when outside and has no qualms about telling telling strangers to step away from our baby. She’s even more careful now that the neighborhood kids are back in daycare.

You know camps and daycares are open, right? Neighborhood kids are outside playing together as I type. Half of the people I see walking around aren’t masked.

Why are you singling out women you assume are nannies?

Masks are t really needed outside OP. Plus it’s hot.

No, masks are still needed outside if you are within six feet and have prolonged contact with another person (as in a conversation). Kids playing together is a moot point since daycares and camps are open.

But I echo the above in wondering why OP is singling out women she assumes are nannies. Does OP think the nannies are disregarding their employers expressed wishes?

For the record, our nanny is always masked outside our house and yard and she doesn’t allow our kids to play with any other kids.

How do you know they were nannies? Did you ask them or did they just come up to you and tell you they were nannies?
