Bike to reston metro?

I am considering buying a home just south of the toll road near the Westin (near Roland Clarke Pl & Sunrise Valley Dr). It's about almost one mile from Wiehle-Reston Metro station. I hope to bike to the station and lock the bike somewhere before walking the elevator. Is this possible and safe to do? I know that there is secure bike room but I can't seem to find info about where is it located (seem like it's on the north side?). Or else does any take lightweight folding bike or scooter on the metro? I am commuting to Metro Center in DC but my wife is working in Reston.

If you're not going at a busy time you can take the bike on the metro. Folding bikes make it easier, but might still be a big thing to crowd in (if we even get back to crowded rush hour).

Bike/metro is a great combination. If metro is ever having a day of stupid you'll find it's not that bad of a ride from metro center out to Reston. Great trails on the VA side.
