Phase II and practice

Phase II in NOVA for past week, any teams started in-person practice yet? If yes, is it going well?

Our team has not yet started, but hoping soon.

If you haven't, no need to reply with the unsolicited paranoia.

my child plays rec, but our clubs travel teams have started practice

who wants to break it to this cute kid, reading from a script her parents wrote for her, that on the "off" days, there will be no learning?

We had first practice tonight and it seemed fine. Socially distanced squares on field with footskills and individual training.

Why do people waste their time posting stuff that makes no sense. People try to be clever and/or funny and just blow it. Waste their time and ours.

Potomac will start in-person practice next week.

Both my daughters’ teams started this week. Only one so far but one has a second one scheduled for this weekend that is at the same time as last weekend so it might become a regular thing.

Backpacks all 6 ft from each other and practicing in squares. Thought it might be all footskills but they worked in some passing and finishing all while being 6 ft or more apart. Thought it was well organized and as beneficial as it could be with distancing in mind.

I wish we could have some sort of in-person practice. We're still all virtual, even though our club is running in person camps in a few weeks.

I’m sure even though some clubs are doing in-person practices, some parents are still weary of letting their DC attend practices. I’m sure most if not all clubs are making parents sign waivers and also making practices optional due to any liability issues.

Additionally, with the social distancing, practices are mostly foot drills and some passing drills and not allow any touching/picking up the ball with hands. No team scrimmages. Hence, excluding seeing/talking to teammates, these practices (ie foot drills & wall drills for passing) can be done virtually or done individually by themselves.

For teams practicing, are your club offering makeup practices?

I thoughts spring season is over, and our club is not doing anything other than tryout.

^ Yes, I think the practices are implied as make-ups in light of Covid; and just excitement to get back on the field - if baby steps (!)

Also depends on the (travel) coach, but our last one had summer practices.

Even if the drills are mostly foot and passing skills, I'm not a coach (or pretend to be), so not discounting their expertise and instruction.
