Ok need help with first and middle name combos. Here's our lists
Boy- Gavin Edward Emmett Patrick Alan Girl- Kay/Kathleen (open to either or Kay as a nn for Kathleen) Helen Margaret Bridget Neutral- Kelly (a male family name) Basic American 2 syllable last name. DD is Rosemary Ann. Favorite name combo for boy and girl? |
|
Margaret Kathleen sounds nice... actually Kathleen makes a good middle name for all of those!
patrick alan |
|
For a boy: Gavin Edward
Your girls names are OK, but I don’t think any of them flow well together. |
|
Gavin Edward or Patrick Gavin
Bridget Kathleen Margaret Kelly |
| Kathleen and Rosemary = Kennedys, and not the luckier ones |
|
Edward Patrick
Patrick Emmett Alan Edward I really like the name Gavin as a first, but I don't really see a middle name choice that works really well for it. Gavin Edward might work, but it really depends on how it flows with your last name. The others, I think, would go with most last names. Margaret Kay |

Edward Patrick
Bridget Helen |
|
I think Margaret Kay (as PP suggested) goes best with Rosemary Ann.
For a boy's name I like Gavin a lot, and the only name that sounds right to me with it is Edward. I like Patrick Alan. But I assume people will call him Pat, which I don't love. |
|
Does Rosemary have a nickname?
I love the name Kathleen, but I really don't like the nickname Kay. I like all the other nicknames that exist for Kathleen. For girls, I vote for Kathleen Margaret, Bridget Kathleen, Kathleen Kelly, or Bridget Kelly. For boys, I like Gavin Edward, Patrick Kelly, or Edward Alan. |
|
Edward Alan
Helen Margaret |
|
Patrick Alan
Kelly Patrick Margaret Kathleen |
If they were my kids, I'd pick Patrick Kelly and call him Kelly. And Helen Kathleen. |
|
I wouldn't go for Kay as a middle name. Because it sounds like an initial.
While Margaret Kay sounds lovely, it will sound like she is saying "Margaret K." She will be forever asked, "no, what is your middle name?" But I like Margaret Helen. And Alan Edward. But they're all great names. |
Same combos I came up with so +1 |
| Alan Patrick |
