Has anyone else heard nothing at all on reopening from their DC daycare?

Have you asked?

Yes... they say they are waiting for OSSE to give them the green light.

OSSE has NEVER mandated closure. The green light has always been on. They are lying.

+1

Ours set their reopening date and it had nothing to do with OSSE making them wait until that date. It was the owner's decision.

Ours is a federal agency sponsored daycare. Seems like it’s not reopening for a really long time. We’re looking for a different one closer to our home.

Curious what daycare? Ours hasn’t opened yet but I also have no plans to send my 4 yo soon, due to his asthma, my pregnancy, and the ability to stagger work schedules with my husband. If they open I imagine I’ll have to start paying tuition again though to hold his spot.

Sorry, meant to add ours is also a federal sponsored daycare so that’s why I’m curious about yours and the reopening timeline.

For those of you that have heard from your daycare, are they reopening full-time for kids or at reduced capacity? How are they making the 10 person per room (including teachers) work?

Our provider selected kids from the enrolled group to meet the limits, and everyone else has to look elsewhere. There were selection criteria communicated to parents.

Mine is reopening and asked for voluntary cuts. Enough parents weren't ready to send kids back that no involuntary cuts were made. The day has been shortened to just under 8 hours so that children and staff remain in the same group all day.
