How do you pray for divine intervention when you need one?
Example.. When you lost something: - Do you wish you find it. But the believe is weak and is not deciding factor. You just.. wish... - Do you believe strongly you find it because you know the Divine will make it happen and you just know it. - Do you trust that it will be found because it happened so many times before and you know you won't be let down - Do you hope but you not necessarily have the full confidence to the outcome as you think it can go either either way. Bonus point for answering: Did you make anything happen for just believing so strongly that it will happen that it did. Something really grand, more then miracle. |
| Hope - not all prayers are answered. |
Yes, they are. Just not necessarily in the way that you think they should be, at that point in time! |
| First thing to understand is that just because something happens doesn’t mean that belief made it happen. |
| You pray to accept whatever happens- whether you find it or not. |
| Hope, but realize what I want or desire cannot be met due to freedom of choice of other people or what will happen due to other unknowable reasons. ( recovering from illness). |
| Trust |
| My prayers are marked by hope that things will turn out the way I want, but trust that I will be able to cope even if they don’t. |
PP is wrong, have you see the Bruce Almighty movie? LoL.. God said.. all prayers are answered but the answer sometime is "no" |
But but but.. didn't Jesus say "believe!".. you must believe!... without this no go... so if you want something but don't believe that will happen then why would it happen? maybe after all the belief is what makes it happen? |
I like trust, trust means someone who knows that what they ask is good and know that their God will know they are good and grant what they need. They trust their God. |
But why pray then? Can you just skip to accepting? After all God knows what you need in you heart and you know he will do the righ tithing. |
Prayer is for us, not God. It’s a way to build a relationship. I think of it like a radio signal. It’s there but you only hear it if you’re tuned to the station. Prayer helps me to connect to the divine and like any relationship, it’s stronger the more time you give it |
| hope |
| I don't pray for many things. Mostly, when I hear about people going through terrible times or difficult losses, I find myself hoping God will bring them peace. On the occasions that I ask for things (I have a seriously mentally ill child and a niece who has overdosed so many times that you would have to wonder how many lives they both have left), I am usually so desperate. But, I never get beyond hope to belief. Besides, like someone else said, you don't always get the answer you want. |
