| I'm getting my ducks in a row to proceed with a divorce. Thirty years of marriage has collapsed after discovering that DH has been having a long term affair. My attorney suggested a couple of CDFPer's but they all seem way too expensive. This may be my reality but I'd like to see if anyone has a recommendation for someone they've used for their divorce finances. I live in Maryland. TIA! |
| Lock that bastard up! |
Thank you but that's not helpful. |
| Jill Doyle at Bennett Doyle LLP is terrific. She’s a lawyer but also provides services as a Certified Divorce Financial Planner. |
| Sorry OP why not a CFP? |
| find a CPA to sort out your money concerns |
I've been advised to go with someone who is certified in the ins and outs of divorce. Apparently, it's a specialty. |
| Did anyone use one of these for your divorce? If not, who did you use, would you recommend them and what qualifications did they have? |

Reviving this thread-NP here in the same boat (fed)-did you find a planner and did it help?
What else do you do to get your ducks in a row? |
| Pushkin and Pushkin actuary worked for me. Plus a CPA |
| Can you go to mediation and split everything 50/50?? This way you won't have to pay accountants and layers. |

I really liked someone who gives free consults to lower income women at the Women’s Resource Center. She volunteers her services there simply because she a good person. She is talented too.
She is simply terrific. |

We just signed on for this woman’s services. We haven’t actually worked with her yet, so I can’t really say how good she is, but she seems sharp.
