Dr. Moses Albert

Does anyone else go to dermatologist Moses Albert in Fairfax? I got an email that said he is no longer with the practice. Did he retire? Did he start up something else? I rather follow him if possible.

I got a letter -- but similarly, no explanation. When I called to find out what the story was, Forefront rescheduled me with the new doc but did not tell me why Dr. Albert left and I haven't seen anything on line about it. I too would like to keep him as my dermatologist if he still plans to practice.

Hmm, I do know the practice as bought a few years ago and the PA there I was seeing left.

The practice got immensely better after it went to forefront. Dr. Albert was always a good doctor but the office staff was horrid. After it was made part of the group it was great...I just wish I knew where he went!

Still hoping to hear something online so we can continue to go to him.

I saw him once. He was pretty rude and aloof, zero bedside manner, didn’t even do a thorough mole check. I never went back. I am surprised to see so many wanting to see him.

Agree, and the wait times were ridiculous. I found a new practice after the PA left.

I can certainly validate your reaction to Dr. Albert as he could seem rude and aloof at times (probably his staff getting to him). Once he was like that to me and when I told him that his manner was dismissive, he really surprised me by responding with curiosity and a sincere apology - not defensiveness or anger. After that, I always enjoyed my visits to him as he was warm, caring and very funny if you cracked the shell. Not only was he a good doctor, but he spent his free time and money on two orphanages overseas.

He took on a really complex case in my mom, who is extremely fearful of doctors. He is super good at what he does.

If a doctor is a jerk, and I have to point it out to get him to change...chances are he’s actually a jerk.

Dr. Moses took care of what I need in one, single, visit unlike other doctors. Some doctors require patients come back/see several times to 'milk' insurance provider...

I went for a visit with Dr Albert’s replacement who I really liked. No one much wanted to comment about what happened to him but once I was in the exam room alone with one of them they made an interesting comment. They said, “Let’s just say he won’t be practicing dermatology in Virginia anymore.” Not sure what that meant but ... I really liked him a lot! Sad he is gone.

That suits exactly how I felt when I saw him. Never went back.

Maybe it means he will only be practicing in Maryland? I think he practices there.
