This is revolting. Remember when Melania spent 90 days in New York City during the first months of the Trump presidency and refused to moved to Washington, D.C.?

She was using her time spent there to force Trump to give her a better pre-nup. Meanwhile U.S. taxpayers forked out 10s of millions in security costs.

The real story here is that the "Art of the Deal" guy had to renegotiate a pre-nup with someone he was already married to, to his financial disadvantage

Blame Trump. She used the leverage that she had, e.g. 'you want me to behave like the First Lady, then here's the deal..."

The fact is that once he was POTUS-elect, he lost leverage to her. He should have acknowledged it sooner instead of playing games at the tax payer expense. It started then, but it should be obvious to the nation by now that he does not care one whit about the nation and has never made a priority of the best interest of the nation or its citizens. He is only in this to get what he can out of the office personally. So, he has spent a huge amount of time making sure that business friendly tax law and policies are promoted so that when he leaves, he'll be sitting pretty to take advantage of it.

He is the one that should have made a deal much sooner with her and stopped the games.

This underscores to me that he never thought he would win. If he had any idea, he would have renegotiated this beforehand. I hate all of the trumps, but I must admit this was pretty smart of her. She certainly never signed up for this.

I still remember after he won it was reported that Melania was crying on election night as the results came in. She definitely thought he'd lose too.

Someone should ask Don Jr, Eric, Ivanka, and Tiffany how they feel about this. Melania's renegotiation got more money for her and Barron at the expense of the older kids' inheritance.
