Have you started an infant at daycare since March?

If you had a baby start since March, how did it go. I know some daycares have been open the whole time and some have opened more recently. We have a spot we could start using now. With my first, I started several hours a day but then stayed in the room a lot too for both me and her to get used to it all. That isn't possible now. I'm contemplating a nanny, but really liked the daycare experience for our first child (which was a different place than we are now).

I had a baby in April and while I'm on leave until the end of July, and likely not going back to the office for awhile, we've been contemplating when we will send Baby to daycare. Like you, I prefer the daycare experience.

I have a 5wo who will be starting daycare when I go back to work in July. Older DD restarted part time this week. Our center is taking a ton of precautions, and they have enacted much stricter policies regarding any potential symptoms or illness and return to daycare. I'm not thrilled with the idea of daycare right now, but our pediatrician was somewhat reassuring on the matter, and we don't have much choice.

Our pediatrician was reassuring about daycare too but we wound up going the nanny route. I wish I was convinced it was the best one. I am worries about the sick policies and if they close again, disrupting the routine for the infant (and older siblings). If only I could see the future.

We had a nanny share fall though last minute, although it was my first choice for our 6 mo old we’re going to start daycare. My husband has to return to his office and I can’t both caretake and work my job full time alone.

I feel both good and worried about it, to be honest. Our pediatrician gave his support, and the center is really going above and beyond on safety it seems, in addition to drastically reduced class sizes. There is however risk, and being a mom I am risk-averse even when the risks are mitigated or lowered.

Have daycares increased their prices to make up for the reduced ratios?

Mine has not, but they've reduced their hours and are no longer providing meals.

Our kid isn’t back yet but I know ours has shorter hours because they need time to clean.

Not an infant parent, but my child is starting in July. They do groups of 3 and he is lucky they actually decided to put him with a pair of siblings that are about a year apart. So very low risk.

Ours is doing the same.
