Has anyone had low estrogen but normal FSH/LH?

I'm trying to conceive my second child but haven't had a period since I gave birth two years ago. Blood panel came back with low estrogen and normal FSH/LH. I'm 35. I have a referral to see a specialist.

Has anyone experienced this? What was your ultimate diagnosis / treatment?

Apologies if this is the wrong forum to post. It's just everyone on this page seems much more knowledgable about the science of conception than in the TTC forum!

It could be a number of things. Did they run prolactin? Also have you looked into hypothalamic amenorrhea ? Depend on your weight/eating/exercising, that’s a possible cause as well.

OP here. Yes they did run prolactin but doctor said it was normal (even for a non-breastfeeding woman). I do still breastfeed my DD for a few minutes morning and night, but if my prolactin levels are normal, surely that wouldn't be the cause of low estrogen?

So it’s probably not the prolactin specifically, but I do know that for whatever reason some people do not get their cycles back until they complete stop breastfeeding, so it may be that, even though you are only doing a minimal amount. For whatever reason, some people are just more sensitive to that than others.
