Seems to me that if your kid scores 99%, at least one hurdle is taken care of.
If you believe as I do, that it has limited predictive value, why not just give them what they want? Then you only have the play date to worry about. |
| I don't know about other preschools, but my little cherub would say something to the tester like "Oh, I remember doing this with Mommy" etc. Not worth it esp since you can accomplish prepping a kid for the same kinds of questions through everyday life. |
| I meant preschoolers. |
| Oh please. Not this again. |
| Not sue what the OP means. How do you buy the WPPSI? |
| Shoot, skip the in between stuff. Just buy the kid you wish you had. |
| Why not hire a stunt double for the playdate? |
| I think there are study guides out there to give you tips and of course you can do like they do in NYC -- have your DC take it as practice run and then again for the real one. I did not do that but the thought crossed my mind only because I wanted to have that piece of the puzzle aced. Might not be a good strategy in my opinion. Good Luck to you and I hope your DC scores HIGH!!! |
| Meant to say MIGHT BE A GOOD STRATEGY. |
| You're not applying to Beauvoir, are you? They routinely call the WPSII administrators when they see a very high score to determine if the child may have been prepped. |
Or just have a naturally brilliant child impersonate her child for the WPPSI
|
I have thought about this. If you could find a child with the same first name. If they are realyy 99%, they would figure out what they need to do. Heck, you could rent out your genius for ummm $400 an hour. 8) |
Good idea. We should post on the expecting forum for ladies to consider picking more popular names, such as Aiden and Emma, if they think their child will be either really smart or sufficiently delayed to need to hire a stunt double. |
Where are you getting this info from? Are you saying that they're contacting testers constantly? Most kids that apply have very high scores. This is bs. The WPPSI/WISC IV is simply a huge money maker for testers. Happy parents (customers) mean free advertising and a fat wallet for them during testing season. |
How can this be true when all children in the DC area score in the 99%ile?
Heck, DC schools shouldn't even bother with the WPPSI, since they know what all the scores are going to be already? |
