round hill or tides riviera maya? anniversary trip

we are looking to go somewhere for our anniversary that is a nonstop flight away. Am considering these two resorts. We like understated elegance/boutique chic - not big all inclusives. any input would be appreciated. thanks

bump! I'm interested in hearing about both of these places, too, for our 10th anniversary.

do you feel pretty secure at Round Hill? Jamaica can be dicey and wasn't on our short list until we heard raves about Round Hill.

Can't help you with either of these places, but if they don't work out, you might look into the Horned Dorset Primavera in Puerto Rico. www.horneddorset.com It's fantastic. There's a direct flight from DC to San Juan, but I'd probably recommend a connection into the airport near Rincon (can't recall the name of the airport). The drive from San Juan to the hotel was annoying (2.5 hours, not scenic). One & Only Ocean Club in Paradise Island, Bahamas is also nice and is a direct flight from DC.
