Can anyone recommend RE not associated with big clinic?

Anonymous
I am finding that dealing with the big name clinics has been a huge hassle for me.
I don't need/want advanced fertility treatment since I can't afford it.

I feel like a solo practice RE would work better in my situation..someone who does IUI with injectables.

Can anyone recommend someone in Montgomery County (preferable Rockville, Bethesda, Silver Spring).

The only one I know of is Dr. Marci Krop Cook, but she's in Reston. She's awesome too.

I don't have an RE to recommend but I encourage you to find a board certified RE...not just an OB/GYN.

Curious why you feel the big clinics are more of a hassle and things would be easier with a solo practitioner.

(When I made my decision about where to go, I liked that the bigger clinics have multiple locations, open 7 days/wk, there's always someone on call to answer questions, etc.)

Dr Durso of Washington Fertility Center..she used to be in a stand alone shop in Alexandria but now she has merged with WFC..WFC does have an office in Rockville and they are a small, personable practice..

Dr. Sacks at Columbia Fertility is great. He's not a solo practicioner, but the practice is small, and I was always seen by him. He has a pleasing bedside manner and obviously cares about his patients. I got pregnant doing IUI with injectables. Dr. Sacks is not in MD though. I think he works exclusively out of the DC office.

I was worried about the hassle and my dh really wanted a solo practice. However, I learned that the big places have far better labs and flexible office hours which make the difference in your IUI/ IVF outcomes. I ended up at Shady Grove and felt for a very, very large practice, it was really well run and everything went smoothly. So, if you go for a solo practice, just ask about their office hours and lab (you may have to go in for weekends for monitoring and small places might not do that).

I'm seeing Dr. Richard Blake in Silver Spring. But he's got a small office, so I have to go to GW for monitoring in the early mornings and wknds. He's affiliated with them for IVf stuff, but he has his own practice. He diagnosed me right. So far, so good.
