Mazda or Acura?

My company allows me to lease a car for under $700 a month (about 45k) and I need to get one this summer. I've had a new baby and would like an SUV. Should I look at the highest priced Mazda or a lower priced Acura? I'm open to suggestions though. Right now we have an Audi sedan and love how it drives. We do low mileage, about 8k a year.

Can't go wrong with either. Tend to think of Mazda as sportier than Acura.

I love my Mazda!

I’ve had only Acuras for the past 15 years so I’m a bit biased. But I’d say definitely Acura over Mazda.

When you consider price vs performance vs reliability vs cost for upkeep/repairs....I think Mazda wins and beats most other brands in fact.

With a new baby? Probably Acura for the smooth ride. Both are great though.

Acura since it is made by Honda.

And Honda’s are well known for being reliable/dependable vehicles.

Which is important when you have a baby....

I know someone who owns a mazda and loves it. Every other time I hear from her, though, she's taking the car in for one issue or another.

Why limit to those 2? $700 per month will give you a lot of options.

Unfortunately, Acura's reliability has taken a downturn the past few years, at least for several of their cars. Tread a bit more carefully in that regard.

Op here, thanks for all of the replies! DCUM rocks!

I actually decided on the Acura BECAUSE we have two car seats and the ratings are better for the Acura. My husband is quite tall and we share the car, so I need the infant seat to fit on either side.

what do you have in mind? I just want an SUV that fits all kinds of car seats. I'll get a three year lease.

This is a kind way to say it - Acura's reliability is in the shitter and they're coasting on outdated reputation. Honda's has also declined, though not as precipitously.

I'd look at Toyota over Mazda, though. Mazdas tend to feel cheap and plastic-y, though they are overall good vehicles.

I’m looking for an MDX, and their reliability is projected to be as bad as a Range Rover’s which everyone knows is absolutely horrible. What happened to Acura?? The New odyssey Minivans have gotten bad reviews too.
